Condado Tacos will open its third Cleveland-area location in Strongsville in July

STRONGSVILLE, Ohio — Condado Tacos is already on the east side and the west side. For its third Cleveland-area restaurant, the growing casual dining chain has set its sights on the south side. Its latest location is expected to open in Strongsville in July.

“We’re so excited to be opening in Strongsville,” said Condado Tacos founder and CEO Joe Kahn. “We are thrilled to expand into another vibrant neighborhood.”

The restaurant will be located in a 4,000 sq. ft. storefront at the Royalton Collection development at 17800 Royalton Rd. The space will have a seating capacity of 200 with a patio and bar. The business will employ between 75-100 people.

Kahn is a co-founder of Barrio, perhaps the granddaddy of Cleveland’s taquerias. Condado features the same format as customers place their orders by ticking off choices on a scantron-style menu. Besides build-your-own tacos, the restaurant offers a variety of chips and dips, plus an extensive drink and margarita menu. Condado also serves brunch on the weekends.

Barrio, incidentally, is also opening a new restaurant in Strongsville, less than three miles away on Prospect Rd.

The first Condado Tacos in the region opened at Pinecrest in 2018. Another location followed a year later at Crocker Park. Founded in 2014, the Columbus-based chain currently has 15 locations in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana and Pennsylvania.

Royalton Collection is currently under construction across the street from the Kohl’s at SouthPark Mall on the grounds of a former Medical Mutual office building. The $26 million project includes a HomeGoods, Red Wing Shoes, City Barbecue, Outback Steakhouse, Tropical Smoothie Café, and Panera Bread. Foundation Software Inc. will take over the office building.
