Jose’s Tacos, a new taqueria, has quietly opened in Detroit’s Eastern Market district.
It’s the second location for the taqueria, which is owned and operated by Guanajuato, Mexico, natives Jose and Leticia Orozco and their children, Luis, Laura and Diana.
The family’s first location opened at 218 E. Grand River in downtown Detroit five years ago.
While the menu is nearly the same as the original location, the Eastern Marketspace at 2518 Market St. is nearly double in size, Luis Orozco said. Inside is booth and table seating for about 60.
On the menu are mainstays of single tacos or taco dinners, burritos, enchiladas, fajitas and quesadillas.
There is also a breakfast menu that includes omelets, burritos, chorizo and eggs, and huevos rancheros. Appetizers include asada fries, salsa, guacamole and queso along with chips. Jose’s Tacos also caters.
Luis Orozco said a grand opening with entertainment including a mariachi band is planned for March 24.
