Topping the list is Los Tacos No. 1. Located at 229 W. 43rd St. (between Seventh and Eighth avenues), this Times Square location of the local chain, which has three other outposts around Manhattan, is the most popular low-priced taco spot in New York City, boasting 4.5 stars out of 1,724 reviews on Yelp. Note: This spot has been known to have lines out the door, so plan your visit accordingly.

Yelper Raunak T., who reviewed Los Tacos No.1 on Feb. 27, wrote, “It’s a must-do when you’re in NYC!”

John K. noted, “Really good, authentic tacos centrally located in the Times Square area.”

2. Los Mariscos

Next up is Los Mariscos, a food hall spinoff of Los Tacos No. 1, which can be found in Chelsea Market at 409 W. 15th St. Opened in 2016 by the Los Tacos team, Los Mariscos specializes in Mexican seafood, serving up ceviche, aguachiles, and fish and shrimp tacos. With 4.5 stars out of 566 reviews on Yelp, it has proved to be a local favorite for those looking for a low-priced option.

Yelper Dori L., who reviewed Los Mariscos on Jan. 30, wrote, “Honestly, best tacos I’ve ever had in New York.”

3. Reyes Deli & Grocery

Over in Gowanus, check out Reyes Deli & Grocery, which has earned 4.5 stars out of 212 reviews on Yelp. Dig in at this bodega/taqueria by heading over to 532 Fourth Ave. (between 14th and 15th streets).

Yelper Megan R., who reviewed Reyes Deli & Grocery on Oct. 10 wrote, “Two tacos for $6, can’t be beat! The tinga is amazing!”

4. Tac ‘N Roll

Finally, there’s Tac ‘N Roll, an East Village favorite with 4.5 stars out of 183 reviews. This unassuming spot offers build-your-own “fusion” tacos with fillings inspired by Thai, Dominican, Indian and other cuisines.

Last year, Eater New York called it “one of the East Village’s greatest culinary sleepers.” Stop by 124 E. Fourth St. (between First and Second avenues) to hit it up next time you’re looking to satisfy your cravings on a budget.
